Latest Update on Discontinuation of Annual CSD Smart Card Renewal

Due to inconvenience caused to the CSD smart cardholder, the Ministry of Defence, Canteen Stores Dept has discontinued the Requirement of Annual Card Renewal.

This was stated as per DDGCS Letter dated 21 September 2022:

The new policy has been in effect from 1st January 2023. All the CSD Card Holders such as ESM, Veer Naris, Civil Defence Employees (Serving / Retired) can now enjoy the benefits of the Army Canteen Smart Card without renewing the card.

Cards of the deceased ESM / Beneficiaries will automatically be deactivated as per the new policy.

By visiting the official CSD website or the Unit Run Canteen (URC) the applicants can ensure uninterrupted access to the benefits of shopping at CSD canteens. The process to renew your CSD Canteen Smart Card is given below:
